Brother Sixtus Roslevich provides us with some news notes on happenings at the monastery and on the travels of the monastic community this summer.

Fr. Christopher Davis, O.S.B., a monk of Portsmouth since 1954, died on July 14, 2024. We offer some brief highlights from his life of 94 years, with 70 of those years as a professed monk of this community.

Abbot Michael Brunner gave this homily at the Mass of Christian Burial for Fr. Christopher Davis, reminding the congregation that it was, in faith, a moment of hope, of gratitude, and of celebration.

Br. Sixtus Roslevich calls to our attention an artist whose work came to be well-known in our area, particularly through his sketches of many Newport sites. Joseph Matose, an oblate of our community, included sketches of the monastery in his opus.
