The Portsmouth Institute presented its annual Providence Symposium on Thursday, March 6 at The University Club in Providence. A panel of three speakers addressed the topic of hope, the theme of our Jubilee Year, exploring what it means to be “Pilgrims of Hope.”

Abbot Michael Brunner, in his homily of Ash Wednesday on March 5, 2025, advises a Lenten effort rooted in the joy of the approaching Easter, in which we consider praying differently, thinking differently, and most importantly – listening to God.

The base of the altar in the chapel of Our Lady, located prominently in the sanctuary of the Abbey Church, bears a message requesting prayer for William V. Griffin. We explore some of the life of this remarkable man of faith.
