RIP Patricia M. Wardell (Oblate)

Many of you may have already received word of the death last week of Oblate Patricia Wardell of Providence.  I was alerted about this by several of you, including Jeanne Perrotti and Anthony Agostinelli, to whom I am extremely grateful.  Pat’s name has been entered into the Portsmouth Abbey Necrology and is being read aloud each morning for the next month during the morning office of Matins/Lauds as prayed by the monks in choir.  Abbot Matthew assures me that Masses will also be celebrated for the repose of her soul.

Here is a link to the obituary in The Herald News.  The Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for 10 a.m. this morning at Holy Name Church in Fall River.  Unfortunately I am unable to attend.  May her soul, and the souls of all the faithful departed, rest in peace.  Amen.
