    • Bishop Thomas Tobin, and many additional guests, joined the Portsmouth Abbey community this past Sunday for the Abbatial Blessing of the Right Reverend Michael G. Brunner, O.S.B. Bishop Tobin expressed his gratitude to be able to join the community on this important day, for “the formal liturgical blessing of Abbot Michael.”

    • Abbot Michael Brunner outlines the course he offers in the monastery’s novitiate: “…Monastic Spirituality. That may sound impressive. But just ask someone to define “spirituality” and see what you get as an answer. Everybody has a spirituality, because everyone has a spirit. It is very personal. So, it is a fair question to ask: What is supposed to be different or distinctive about a monk’s spirituality?”
