An Introduction to Liturgy
Brother Sixtus Roslevich relates that, "My personal interest in, and exposure to, the liturgy of the Church does go back many years, long before I ever heard the word or really knew what it meant." He discusses the unexpected path leading him to now teach liturgy, as part of our monastery's novitiate program.
"Live from New York...": The Abbot's Reception 2021
The Abbot's Reception has long been a gathering event for the extended community of Portsmouth Abbey, whose New York affiliations stem from our earliest days. The event took place again this past Thursday evening at the distinguished venue of the New York Yacht Club.
The Assistant Director of Spiritual Life for the School, Mr. Dan McQuillan, recently began sending out to the School community reflections collected for the season of Advent. As we enter more deeply into the season of Advent, we provide some of these reflections here to help our readers, "enter more fully into the mystery of God's nativity." As Dan has expressed to the School, we also express to our readers the "hope they will serve as a moment of peace and prayer in your day."
